queen-and-leonhardt asked: I want to cosplay Terezi, but as I'm new to the fandom and haven't cosplayed a troll before, I was wondering what your opinion would be of a headless gray zentai suit for troll skin? I'm down with painting my entire body (I've done it before), but the makeup apparently doesn't stay on hands well, so I was looking for alternatives and was wondering about zentai suits?
hi there! Mod A.
What I find about paint is that while it looks fantastic, it can be a bit stressful when you have to reapply it, especially on the hands. I’ve been sticking with PAX for over a year now, and I’ve found that it’s just a huge pain, especially when you have to cover a whole leg, or even an arm. So I would definitely never frown upon somebody using arm socks/ zentai suits, etc, because it’s important to be comfortable in your cosplay!
You should be looking at a few important points when it comes to Zentai suits
1) find a suit that’s Matte. like, not shiny.
2) make sure it fits ou right! this might mean more sewing even after you get the suit because you wait to minimize the wrinkles that for mwhen you move around and stuff.
3) a good colour. Even if it might look good in theory, try to imagine that colour on your face. It’s important to have a good, colour for your face because too dark of a grey will make your important facial features not as noticable. Sorry if this explanation is horrible. Basically too dark of a grey on your face is horrible so make sure that your zentai suit is a good, light colour.
4) as a follow up to the last point, make sure that your ben nye / snazaroo/ kryolan / etc MATCH YOUR ZENTAI SUIT. v important.
I think that’s about all I have in mind. I’ve nver used any arm socks or zentai suit so I don’t have much to say on this matter. If anybody wants to add anything they’re welcome to!
